User Friendly Blaster

Model: Scud 400

Aussie Pumps’ new 4,000 psi portable engine drive Scud range of pressure cleaners designed specifically with cleaning contractors, plant operators and miners in mind.  Designed for the toughest applications, Scud 400 delivers a whopping 4,000psi pressure, or 6,400psi when used with an Aussie Turbo Lance.

“If you want to get dirt off a piece of earthmoving plant fast before you service it or move it off site, the Scud is the way to go”, said Aussie Pump’s Dean Fountain. “The Turbo delivering 6,400 psi of effective working pressure, blows mud, dirt and even concentrated build up caked dust from oil leaks, away in seconds”, he said.

The Scud has won a range of awards and has been hailed as “the world’s best contractor style pressure cleaner”, even by industry magazines in the USA.

The Scud doesn’t just represent a high pressure cleaning machine, but more a complete system that enables operators to adapt the machine’s configuration to their specific application.  For example, the basic Scud 400 can be equipped with an integrated lifting bar for use on-site, can come in a “mine spec” version with a Yanmar diesel engine, and more importantly, can be fitted with a hose reel with up to 50m of high pressure hose on board.

That integrated hose reel means the operator can clean a big piece of plant without having to move the machine, saving time, water, and of course money!

The heart of the system is the Big Berty Bertolini pump, fitted with ceramic pistons for a long trouble free life.  Bertolini Pumps also come with unique rapid action check valves, and high temperature seals for a long, trouble-free life.  An innovative design valve cap system prevents the cap failure due to over pressurisation by isolating valve cap thread, an exclusive Big Berty feature.

A range of engines are available, from Honda standard recoil start petrols to electric start versions and optional diesel drives.  The standard diesel is the Yanmar 10hp, but bigger horsepower Kohler engines are also available as an option.

The Scud’s unique frame, design registration number 336049 is what makes the machine so user friendly.  Designed to look like a cross between a Ferrari and a Bobcat, the frame is loaded with features.  Its heavy duty one piece steel construction, is hot dip galvanised for a long, trouble-free life.  Integrated tie down points and lance holder are incorporated into the design.

Four big steel wheels with 13” pneumatic tyres, “off road” style, are standard. Wheels are designed into the frame in such a way that the machine is extremely manoeuvrable and operator friendly.

The Scud is regarded as being the safest machine of its type on the market.  Features also include AFT (Aussie Factory Protection). The AFT system incorporates a safety valve as a failsafe on standard integrated unloader valve, to eliminate the possibility of pressure spikes.  The safety valve protects the operator and the machine from spikes!

The AFT also includes a thermal dump valve that prevents the machine from overheating in the event of excessive bypass running.

Australian Pump is Australia’s major pressure cleaner manufacturer and lead the way in innovative design.  The Aussie Scud is at the cutting edge of pressure cleaner design and has wowed the Europeans.  We expect to launch the Scuds in Europe and the United States later this year.  The machine is already on the market in Asia, with shipments already heading for Japan!
