Stainless Mine Pump
Model: SFQ range
Australian Pump Industries announce the launch of an extended range of heavy duty cast 316 stainless steel submersible pumps. With over 80 years of experience in the market, the Tsurumi manufactured SFQ range are built to handle corrosive water in the most extreme applications.
Unlike other pumps that have a pressed stainless steel jacket, the SFQ series pumps are made of cast austenitic stainless steel with 316 stainless steel wetted parts. The sheer weight of metal used indicates these pumps are designed to provide the mining and industrial processing markets with unparalleled resistance to corrosion and abrasion.
“Tsurumi manufacture these pumps in stainless steel for specific use where corrosion and abrasion are an issue,” said David Seaman from Australian Pump’s Industrial Division. “We’ve recognised the potential for the SFQ pumps, in particular the higher capacity versions, to meet demand from mines across Australia,” he said.
The SFQ series offer capacities of up to 2,000 litres per minute flow, and heads as high as 44 metres. The complete series of pumps includes 50mm (2”) discharge and 80mm (3”) discharge, with three phase two pole motors now available up to 11kW.
Tsurumi Pump developed the product range in response to requirements in US and Japanese markets for super reliable pumps for the mining and petro chemical markets. Those industries face processing aggressive waste water daily.
The superior dual mechanical seal features silicon carbide on both surfaces and a unique “Oil Lifter” developed to enhance seal performance. The resulting extended seal life means less downtime for maintenance and less failures in the field. The system is unique in that no part of the mechanical seal comes into contact with the corrosive liquid being pumped.
Tsurumi submersible pump cables all feature a unique anti wicking block that prevents the ingress of water into the motor. Even if the cable is damaged or the end is accidentally dipped into liquid, the moisture is blocked from wicking into the motor.
The Tsurumi SFQ pump range features a high capacity semi open style impeller to pass suspended solids without damage to the pump. The impeller and suction cover are both made from corrosion resistant, durable, cast 316 stainless steel.
The standard pumps are free standing and an auto-coupling guide rail system is available.
“The SFQ series is a superbly engineered stainless steal pump ideal in terms of design and materials for applications in process plants, quarries, mines and lime pits,” said Seaman.
