No, it’s not a person, it’s a pump! Aussie Pumps latest development in firefighting equipment is what they have nicknamed, the “Aussie Imposter”.
“We called it that because it changes the way people think about high pressure portable fire pumps”, said Aussie Pumps Chief Engineer, John Hales. “Moyston Brigade was one of the many entries in our photo competition. The Moyston crew won a revolutionary Imposter pump, model QP205SX/GX160. It’s the latest addition to the family of pumps based on the Aussie Fire Chief” he said.
The Fire Chief is a revolutionary single impeller pump that performs as a twin impeller. Hales says, “we owe a great debt to Honda for co-operating with us on this project. Getting the head up from 75 metres maximum to the Imposter, doing 90 metres head, was a question of impeller design and engine capability”.
The pumps come with Aussie’s unique five-year warranty. The Honda engine is guaranteed by Honda to be free of faulty workmanship or material for a period of three years from delivery.
The Moyston Brigade are delighted with the prize and look forward to putting this high-tech product to work in the field.
